How Network works: subscription, account and app

What your subscription provides, why you need an account and an app, and how to choose a plan for your devices.

The subscription provides access. Your account manages payment and devices. An app on your phone, computer or TV enables the connection itself.

Three parts of one connection

Creating an account does not connect a device. Installing the app does not complete setup either: you need to add the subscription from your account.

Network subscriptionDefines access and device limits: Basic includes 3 devices, Pro includes 6.
Device appReceives settings from your account and switches the connection on or off.

When it may be useful

The service requires working internet. It does not replace your mobile operator or home provider, and does not make website activity anonymous.

  • You need an encrypted channel between your device and the server on home, mobile or shared Wi-Fi networks.
  • You want websites reached through the connection to see the server’s IP address instead of your own connection’s address.
  • You want to manage multiple devices through one account.

Choose a plan for the devices you use

List the devices you plan to use, such as a phone, laptop and TV. A three-device limit fits that group. Five devices need at least five slots; the current Pro plan includes six.

Check current price, duration and conditions on the plans page and in your account before payment. If your existing subscription includes extra slots, use the limit displayed on its card.

After choosing a subscription

Set up each additional device separately. You do not need to reinstall the app for an ordinary subsequent connection.

  1. Open the selected subscription in your account on the device you want to set up.
  2. Choose “Connect device” and install an app for your operating system.
  3. Add the subscription to the app, enable the connection and check that websites load.
